Comment: To Andrea, I guess the butterflies have somethin' to do with Victor drawing one in the beginning of the movie.. maybe to show the beauty of it, or making it more dramatic XD

Comment: Nope. don't like them. Tim Burton never read a Batman comic book before making those movies and it shows.

Comment: Stephan I know you said you don't like Tim Burton films, but what about his Batman movies? Do you like them? I'm not much of Burton fan myself but I do think his Batman films are good.

Comment: @captain ryno "just cause his going to marry the dead bride doesn't mean it's necrophilia." Actually, by definition it does mean that. Necrophilia is defined as sexual attraction to or romance with a corpse. Emily is a corpse and Victor was going to marry her so yes, it technically is necrophilia. I would argue that it's not bad like real life necrophilia because the corpse can still walk and talk like a person and is thus identical to a living person in all the ways that really matter, but is still technically necrophilia.

Comment: Finally, another non-Burton fan! This film in particular is just weird and confusing despite having good animation. The only movie of his that I love is Ed Wood. The rest range from tolerable to really weak. I just thought I'd say this to show you that you aren't the only one out there that isn't fond of his work.

Comment: i disagree with you. this is a good movie. the characters are like this cause they develop thought the movie. yes, the dead people can be weird at times, but when you get use to it, it's kind of cool looking. and no, just cause his going to marry the dead bride doesn't mean it's necrophilia. i just think it's one of those movies that everyone bashes about, but it really is a good movie.

Comment: It's funny, Flameamigo also called the villain Bittern. I prefer to call him Barkis because that's what they refer to him as throughout most of the film. I think Bittern is mentioned once as his last name but never again. Anyway, I too love this film as I find it touching, funny at times and I like the songs. (Save for the first one which gets king of boring as it goes along) The disgusting imagery itself feels necessary as it does take place in the land of the dead. Though I will say this: I dislike the ending. I saw what they were trying to do, but Emily is much more interesting and fun character while Victoria's kind of boring. Victor should have taken that suicide potion. Still, it's all opinion, so whatever.

Comment: No, I gave plenty of other reasons why I thought the movie was bad. But I wasn't trying to MAKE anyone think anything. I don't care if anyone else likes it, I just don't.

Comment: Sorry. I just thought Stephan was just saying that necrophilia crap to make us think the movie is bad. But I still think it's a good film.

Comment: @Isabella: His name is Barkis Bittern. @Devon: Meg explained it. He's trying to marry a dead person. That's necrophilia.

Comment: While I do enjoy this film, it's not really one of my favorites, so I ain't sending any hate mail. Nicely done as always! I totally loved Nootrac's cute evil laugh! PS, @Devon; I can kinda see why he'd make the necrophilia connection - necrophilia is when you fall in love with someone/something that's dead, and Victor was willing to let himself die so he could be with Emily. Granted, they never expressly said that Victor was in love with Emily, and the idea of necrophilia IS a little icky (OK, a LOT icky!), but I can see where he made the connection.

Comment: I agree with Isabella. This movie has absolutely NOTHING to do with necrophilia, so why make the connection? Also, what did Nootrac think of the movie? You never let him tell us that!

Comment: I watched the movie like three times, not because I liked it, because I was trying to understand the ending! I know it's supposed to be emotional, but I don't get it! What do the butterflies represent? Why did see turn into butterflies! Explaination! Hello? Anyone? Also, when are you going to conclude that psycho thing at the end of the episodes. It's so freaky and scary, I miss the songs you would play on your guitar at the end TT-TT
