Animated Analysis: Loonatics Unleashed
Season 2 opens with a review of
Loonatics Unleashed! How bad is it REALLY? ...Well, I'll be honest, I'm not sure this video is a good way of figuring that out.

Comment: I've seen a TON of the original Loony Tunes shorts and I loved them. But after watching two episodes of Loonatics Unleashed, all I can say is...it's not too bad.
It's clumsy and not well explained but the action is good and it's kind of cool seeing the world they live in several years from now. The animation is a bit dated and the mouths wouldn't move quite right at times but it's not terrible.
I'd give this show a C-. Effort was put into it with the animation and characters but there's little explanation about the world and WHY these characters are here.
Not bad but it could have been a LOT better.

Comment: @Ken: The problem isn't them trying something new with the characters(or the copies, as it were), the problem is there's just no reason to do it this way. I'm not complaining about the NEW Looney Tunes show(despite its MANY problems) because at least it makes sense. Taking character who act KINDA like the Looney Tunes and making them bad action heroes is just a dumb idea. It could have been handled worse, but it also could have been handled better, but my real problem with the show is just how horrible the entire concept is.
If you want a better example of something like this, I'd recommend the Duck Dodgers show from around the same time.

Comment: I liked this show. you know, I'm not entirely sure the original Looney Tunes AREN'T outdated. I am sorry to say that but what did the old shorts have besides random slapstick, you need serious moments, you need more then just comedy, you need forget you're watching a cartoon. and people say the loonatics are one-dimensional, maybe so but what depth did the original Looney Tunes have.
but my biggest problem is that the show has been cancelled for five god damn years and people still complain about it.

Comment: In the words of Don Bluth (about his box-office bomb "A Troll in Central Park" ): "Animation is like a newborn child, it must be treated with proper care, take lots of time for it's development."
And that's what I think of what the writers and animators of LU should've done. I mean "Loonatics Unleashed" would've been a better show if it had better dialogue, no plot-holes, explain things briefly, and get rid of everything that makes LU look like another "Power Rangers."
I've written LU fan-fictions that might make the show a lot better.

Comment: No, I don't. It's mediocre and has a terrible premise and shamelessly uses they Looney Tunes name for a show obviously not suited for the title.

Comment: i don't know. i'm maybe one out of the thousands of people that watched this and thought "hm...this isn't that bad" sure, i watch the original first and i love those shows, but... there was something about this show that i liked too. i mean, it could have been worse. ... like some other looney tune shows.

Comment: Well, guys, if you don't like storylines you're going to hate where the show's going. I'd recommend you to stop watching if you want a basic review show, because that's not happening.

Comment: The problem I have with inserting story arcs into reviews is that the story arcs should just be story arcs. Adding reviews is just distracting. Not enough focus is put on the review to actually inform audiences of what you think while not enough focus is put on the story arc for the audience to completely care about what's happening.

Comment: Well I personally enjoy story arcs within a review. And I'm really enjoying your story arc indeed. However your regular reviews are still just as much fun to watch. I really like what you're doing so far and I can't wait to learn more about Nootracs wicked powers!!! Keep up the good work!

Comment: As usual, your production value is my envy. I never saw the show, but I love what you've got going here. Keep it up! I remember when this show was first announced. Some kid actually petitioned to have it stopped, so they redesigned the characters to look more friendly. Or something like that.

Comment: I've seen this show before...not as good as the original Looney Tunes shorts by a long shot, but an all right show. Nicely done. I especially loved the end with Nootrac going all powerful and badass adorable!

Comment: I would have liked to see an honest review as opposed to a joke one especially since I am one of the few who actually likes this show. (That and this is starting to remind me of the Nostalgia Chick's Dark Nella Saga, a story arc that got on my nerves the more it went on because of how distracting it was from the actual reviews) Still, you do actually make some very good defenses in this: A lot of the people who hate on the show never actually watched it. Hey, at least Lola was interesting this time.
Also, was that "You're supposed to figure these things out for yourself" based off of one of the comments you got for your BLT review?
