Comment: The next Kingdom Hearts game should really play up the darkness part. There are a lot of things from disney that is yet to be used. I can see Mickey getting captured and infected with darkness by the Mad Doctor, and the result would be the Demon Mickey at the beginning of this video, or make it similar to the short where that version originated. And Donald could get infected as well and act Just Like A Hungry Psycho! They should also have The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Black Cauldron, add a little parody like Shrek, etc.

Comment: 10. Oh yes....9. Loved the scene as a child - then found it boring for a while - now I love it for the animation. But I get that some people are freaked out by it 8.Oh yes...the scene with the heads is sooo freaky 7. Oh yes... 6. Wouldn't agree there...the horned king is scary, but he has nothing on the Coach Man. And I always thought that he somehow felt short... 5. Ah yes, there it is...would definitly be my number one considering that I still can't watch this whole segment of Pinocchio 4. Mmm...the scene in the movie really scared me as a child (in fact the scary parts of the movies is the only reason I still like the movie nowadays), but the ride doesn't really have the same feel (but it's a good one nevertheless). 3. Don't know the movie 2.I love the haunted mansion, but I never thought it really scary - I always thought it very funny, especially the paintings. The scariest ride they ever had is the alien encounter (nothing worse then hearing your neighbor getting eaten - there is a reason there were constantly crying children at the exit of the ride) glad that it got a honorable mention. 1. Mmmm...again, never thought it that scary...I was always kind of faszinated by the segment. Nope, I stick to the Coach Man as my number one. Another nightmare fuel moment you didn't mention is the third christmas ghost from Disney's version of the Christmas Carol...with the grave opening....*shudder*

Comment: Animat, I've been thinking maybe you should do a list of top ten creepiest bosses in videogames! Super Metroid MUST be mentioned!!!!! By the way, I'm still afraid of Pinocchio to this very day! But thankfully because of Filmation it's been toned down! (thank you Filmation!!!!) by the way, the name Mr. Dark is the name of the villain from the first Rayman game I should know, I played it!

Comment: There where some disney scenes that scared me. The part where the Hunter tried to kill Snow White used to scare me when I was a kid. The Bald Mountain scene on Fantasia always scared me. The T. Rex scene in the Rite of Spring scared me, too. I also used to be afraid of the Cheshire Cat's smile in Alice in Wonderland because I did not know what was going to happen and I used to run out of the room when I saw his smile. The green smoke scene on Sleeping Beauty used to scare me too because of the music and the Aurora chanting. The Black Cauldron freaked me out when first saw it, but now I'm not scared of it any more since watched it last time. In Beauty and the Beast, the part where Maurice and Phillipe got lost in the woods always scared me when I was young. Now I'm over those phobias.

Comment: I think you should've put Monster Mickey from "Runaway Brain" as an honorable mention as well. Because seeing a lovable character turning into something monstrous is scary. When I first saw Mickey as a monster, I never looked at him the same way again for 3 years! With those crazy eyes, sharp teeth, sharp claws, and blue tongue, that guy is nightmare fuel!

Comment: Some of the things on this list I didn't really find scary, mostly because I never watched it or I don't remember, like Pleasure Island. Speaking of which, isn't there an adults only club that has that same name in Downtown Disney at Orlando? Anyway, the other things I do agree were scary. I was about twelve when I saw the adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad for the first time and the headless horseman kept me up for about a week, I didn't watch all of Return to Oz but from what I could see it was pretty dark,I never went to any of the Disney theme parks (Boo!) but I watched the video of the ride on YouTube and it scared me, espeically the end where Madame Leota said "Hurry Back," I had to sleep with the light on for a few nights. As for "Something Wicked This Way Comes," I never watched it and at the moment I don't really want to, since I still get quesy at the sight of blood. Something I found a little weird, though is that the blood looks pretty realistic here and yet the blood in the movie Die Hard looks a lot more like ketchup. Like I said, at the moment, I don't want to watch that movie but maybe when I'm older, and I've gotten over my blood phobia, I might take a look.

Comment: Really good list I enjoyed this trip to my own scared childhood. I agree Chernabogs part in Fantasia scared me the most back then. Next to the clown scene in Brave Little Toaster this was one of the scenes I couldn't watch. I had to turned the tape of. The Pink Elephants never scared me I loved that part (and Dumbo was next to Fantasia my favorite Disney movie). Sadly I've never been to Disneyland (if I ever get there I will so ride the Haunted Mansion) and I want to see "Something Wicked This Way Comes" now.

Comment: 10: I watched that cartoon all the time when I was younger. But no matter how times I've watched it, I was never prepared for when the Headless Horseman came out! D8 My brother totally geeked out when I told him about the Headless Horseman sounding just like Master Hand! 9: Actually, when I was little, I was never scared of this scene; I thought it was really cool! (In my mind, I used to call the stuff that Dumbo drank "Loopy Juice" ^^;) 8: Never saw it, but I've seen enough footage to make me want to check it out sometime. 7: I always felt so sorry for Donald! Poor guy! (and THANK YOU for that ending there! That totally made my day! :D) 6: *shudders* The first time I actually got this movie was a few years back, and BOY was it freaky! Not enough that I didn't want to see it again, but...it was definitely freaky. Man that Horned King is scary...O_O 5: I really never got scared of that scene when I was a little girl. I don't mean to sound mean, but I always got a vibe of "They had it coming." Of course I don't feel that way now. Every time I hear the music building up, I get shivers in my spine. 4: Really? I was never scared by that ride...then again, I only went on the DisneyWorld one. 3: Never seen or heard of this one. It definitely looks cool though! 2: OMG I FREAKING LOVE THIS RIDE!! I think the ghost bride was my favorite ghost. And seriously!? Paul Frees was the ghost host!? I didn't know that! Cool! HM: Looks really cool! Didn't get to ride it though. (the first time I went to DisneyWorld was after they put Stitch's Great Escape in. I think I heard somewhere that the guy who directed "The Brave Little Toaster", Jerry Rees, worked on ExtraTERRORestrial, but I'm not really sure. 1: Oh yeah, saw that coming a mile away. I mean, it's just as you said: Nothing is scarier then Hell. Totally agree with you on the No. 1 spot.

Comment: VERY nice, AniMat! I totally agree with your #1! However, you forgot to mention that Madame Leota (the lady in the crystal ball at the Haunted Mansion) is voiced by the same actress who voiced Lady Tremaine from Cinderella AND Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty (now THAT is scary!) And personally, I think the Big Ben chase from The Great Mouse Detective (you know, the scene where Ratigan goes berserko, tears off most of his clothes and claws the snot out of Basil) should be on this list, but maybe that's just me. BTW, @Sam F: No way, they used VINCENT PRICE as a model for that guy? I LOVE Vincent Price!

Comment: It's weird how the scariest moment in Disney History seques into the most tearjerkingly beautiful moment in Disney History. In Night on Bald Mountain, you feel a sense of dredd, Hopelessness and fear knowing that Satan and demons can have control. Then ten minutes later in Ave Maria, you feel as if none of that ever happened and that you are bathed in hope and beauty. Great list Animat! Can't wait for animated Time machine.

Comment: Loved this list. Although I have to disagree about how the Headless Horseman song wasn't scary. Sure, it wasn't entirely scary, but it did help build some suspense, you have to admit it. Plus, it's so damn catchy. That, and they made a characature of Vincent Price as the guy who goes "And some don't even wear their SKIN". BTW, your title card is pretty good, although somewhat misleading to what's on the list. Was it something you made? Oh, also, if you want, I can probably help you with that blood effect you tried to do.

Comment: I think the transformation of Lampwick mirrors the one in "An American Werewolf in London" 41 years later the way I see it. Also, in "Something Wicked This Way Comes", A KID'S HEAD GETS CHOPPED OFF ON-SCREEN?!? OH MY GOD! HOW COULD DISNEY MAKE A MOVIE WITH THAT?!? But, to be honest, I didn't find the Haunted Mansion ride THAT scary.

Comment: I love the Haunted Mansion. Here are some I would have added: The Little Mermaid - the scene where Ursula grows huge Aladdin - Jafar transforming into a snake Pinocchio's Daring Journey at DisneyLand - at the end when Monstro pops out right in front of you out of the dark Winnie the Pooh - the Heffalumps and Woozles nightmare/ Rabbit getting lost in the dark woods the original Walt Disney Home Video logo - aka, the rotating neon Mickey silohuette. Look it up on YouTube and you'll know what I'm talking about
