Comment: This was a beautiful review. Unfortunately, sound effect artists aren't recognized a lot, and sound effects in my opinion are some of the most convincing and emotional parts of a movie. I hope Ben Burtt watches this, because I think he'd be proud. Excellently done, Mr. Coat!

Comment: Great show. Ben Burtt is a creative genius. I recently sat down and watched "Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978.)" Ben worked on that one as as the lead sound guy and did his usual exceptional work. He can find the best sounds in the oddest places. On that particular movie, he used the sound of his unborn son's heartbeat for the pods every time they gave birth to another clone. As a filmmaker, this dude inspires me.

Comment: Rare and interesting choice for an episode. I had no idea who this guy was. I also had no idea that he created a few famous sound effects!

Comment: Yay! Someone actually paying triubte to the sound department of films. The unsung heroes of the filmindustry. Sound is kind of a daunting task, but fun. When on set, you're always the last to get your say. Since the director wants good acting and the Cinematographer good light and great angles it's up to the Sound Mixer and Boom Operator to be able to get good sound despite everything working against them. Yet bad sound is the first thing an audience will notice. The same thing with the effects and guys like Ben Burt. If they do a good or great job, no one except people "in the know" or filmbuffs/nerds who've seen the movie a dozen or so times will notice. But if you do it wrong, everyone will notice. FACT: People can exept bad acting and bad cinematography. But bad sound is always a sin. I know, I've been working with it sound and studying it (and filmmaking in general) for two years. And sound, along with scriptwritting, is what I do and know best (with that said, I'm still pretty green). Thanks for this tribute, Mr. Coat. Thank you.
