Comment: @Ebalance- You're not missing much with The Music Man remake... it's pretty much the same movie with, in my eyes, weaker performances. The Producers, on the other hand, is almost entirely different and yet so much the same as its original counterpart, so it's actually worth checking out.

Comment: I like David a lot!!!
SIMBA RULEZ!!!!!!! LION KING FTW!!!!!!! And he’s good in the second one too!!! I also wonder why they didn’t let him sing
I haven’t seen a lot of these, actually
I couldn’t watch “The Producers” b/c like “The Music Man” I FREAKIN’ LOVE the originals too much… but I’m sure he did a good job… but I LOVE GENE WILDER… weird to see Nathan and Matthew together again after “The Lion King”
I like him in Ferris Bueller, but IDK… I think the movie is kinda overrated… the problem is that he’s a free spirit, but he’s not exactly an “enlightened being”

Comment: Ooh, I love Matthew Broderick! Personally, Simba is my favorite role of his, but Ferris Bueller is a pretty good choice, too. Good list, Mr. Coat!

Comment: To Coolclaytony: "What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul".

Comment: Mr. Coat..thank you for compiling this list. Matthew is my all time favorite actor because of his quirky and unique style. I liked your list but can't believe you didn't include Glory or The Frehman on your top ten. I also loved The Last Shot and I would have added a movie called The Night We Never Met. It's not available on DVD but I have an old VHS copy of it.
My order: 1)Election 2) Glory 3) Biloxi Blues 4) The Last Shot 5) The Freshman 6) You Can Count on Me 7) Addicted to Love 8) The Producers 9) Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle 10) Master Harold and the Boys (A Showtime production from the early 80's...just fabulous) as an extra bonus I would add his most recent movie called Wonderful World. I thought he was terrific in an older dad role, something he hadn't done up to that point. I'm looking forward to Tower Heist later this year. Plus, his Broadway performances like H2$, Brighton Beach Memoirs, The Producers, The Foreigner and one my my favorites from last year, The Starry Messenger. Older Broderick brings something totally different to these more mature roles and I hope to see him in much more in the future.

Comment: The only time Doug Walker's thoughts on Broderick ever got to me was when he implied that the remake of The Producers sucks just because it has him and Nathan Lane in it. That's just unfair.

Comment: he's all right. he's not great, but he is underrated. Doug doesn't have to like him if he doesn't want to. i think he wasn't that good in Inspector Gadget, but he can be great

Comment: What's your thoughts on Doug Walker hating Matthew Broderick's acting?
Mr. Coat: He's perfectly free to think so. I actually agree with him, regarding Godzilla and The Thief and the Cobbler. But, in regards to Gadget, well, I guess it's a case of agreeing to disagree.Name: Devon

Comment: Great choices. I don't see why some people hate Matthew Broderick so much. And no matter whatever he was in, I'll always remember him as adult Simba in "The Lion King".

Comment: I personally thought Lion King was my favorite performance by Mathew Broderick and Leo bloom is my second favorite. But do you have an thoughts of his performance in The Thief and The Cobbler(1993 version without Richard Williams ,released by Miramax Films) /Arabian Knight?
Mr. Coat: Personally, I think he was un-necessary there. Maybe if the character was always meant to speak, but it's obvious that the Cobbler should have been silent.
P.S. I love Broderick as Ferris Bueller, didn't anyone think he might have been a bit unlikeable at times, not hard working and spoiled? And yes i have seen DR. Insano/Spoony's review.
