Comment: I DID hate the Chipmunks live-action movies, but I did enjoy the Chipmunks still and you sort of missed two things; their Halloween Specials. Also...I did enjoy some of the Chipmunk animated movies, but...not the live action movies. So Live action-fail, Animated-good.

Comment: I love the show from the late 80's early 90's and "The Chipmunk Adventure" but I HATE the new movies... THEY SUCK!!! The thing I find fascinating about "The Chipmunks" was that their creator invented them in order to promote his new invention that sped or slowed down voices. He also voiced and sang for the group, including his alter-ego "David Seville." His son then went on to revive the Chipmunks for the 80's TV show and did the voices for Alvin, Simon, and David. The Chipettes were invented b/c his wife wanted a bigger part in the show, and she voiced all the Chipettes as well as Theodore. So all the singing and speaking of these characters was done by just 2 people, who were married, the one being the son of the creator, who had also done all the voices, not to mention having invented the tech. to speed up voices. So I still like The Chipmunks, but I really do wish they hadn't made those new movies... the characterizations are terrible, and the cast and the writing don't help either... not to mention the fact that the things we call "The Chipmunks" were kinda supposed to be like Snoopy, in the way they pose as kids... weird... but... whatever... anyway, they weren't supposed to be actual chipmunks... I DID NOT PAY ANY MONEY TO SEE THE NEW MOVIES... You see, I actually like the few original songs from "The Chipmunk Adventure." One of the worst things about the new films is NO ORIGINAL SONGS!!! They're all covers of pop songs, most of which aren't even good in their original incarnations. I also love PATF... it's tragic to think these awful films are beating out good ones at the box office. However, can you defend South Park when it comes to potty humor? That's honestly the reason why I don't watch that show... so complaining about other types of potty humor... well... just make it clear whether it's acceptable or not. Overall: 80's Chipmunks... good 21st C. Chipmunks... RUN AWAY!!!!! That Fellow: The thing with South Park is that there is a point behind the potty humour is that there is actually a social commentary behind the humour. Plus, it's an adult show and Alvin & the Chipmunks is more aimed towards families, so they are allowed to get away with it.

Comment: I know how you feel. THOSE NEW CHIPMUNKS MOVIES ARE COMPLETELY OVERRATED!!! However, I think "The Princess and the Frog" wasn't a really big box-office hit because the title's emphasis on princesses made boys not wanna go see it, because they thought it was a GIRL movie. *PFF!* Morons. That's why Disney changed the title of their Rapunzel movie to "Tangled", which looks great, but GOD is the title STUPID! :(

Comment: If you thought "Alvin and the Chipmunks" couldn't get any worse, in 2011 that are going to release a third sequal in 3D! And they are going to be released on the same date as a Muppet movie (coming out in theaters)! The Muppets better come out of the gutter and away from the lousy effort that were put in the TV Specials, because if they don't, the Chipmunks would win the box-office and the Muppets might be shut-down.

Comment: Okay, here is my comment. Now, I remember various Alvin and the Chipmunk episodes from when I wasa kid. And I really enjoyed them. I remember 2 episodes where Alvin was left alone. And there is one episode on VHS which I have. I'll watch that soon. And I remember The Chipmunk Adventure as well. I really enjoyed that movie when I was a kid. But I have to admit. Yeah, I did go see The Alvin And The Chipmunks movie in theatres back in 2008 with my new friend. Uh, well. I still like it. But about the Squeakquel, thankfully, I chose to see The Princess And The Frog in theatres instead. And on the day when I saw it, I actually enjoyed Tarzan more than the squeakuel on DVD on that day. You know, I pefer the old chipmunks rather than the new chipmunks.

Comment: haven't seen a video of yours in quite some time. have to say, was fun seeing another video from you. although you have barely improved in presenting a solid presentation, it was still nice to view. by saying not providing a solid presentation, just saying you never go too into things. i understand of pacing, but i think there early works is somewhat amusing. and how they were first presented in puppet-form. you seemed to skip right to the '80s, and even then all it was was just you saying how you don't like it. barely any insight into the show. same with recent movies. also i don't think i remember you explaining how the creator came up with them. all you did was just say his name. can't say i enjoy them too much, just find them amusing. even though they are clearly cash-cows, from day-one birth. anyways, nice video. you still need a lot more improvement. now, im not saying green-screen the background to look more pro, dress up, fancy everything up. im just saying you need more insight to what your saying, as well as matching clips with what your talking about. for the most part they are spot on, but once or so, may be noticeably slightly off-cue.

Comment: Actually, I think all of Glen Keane's Disney animation credits are awesome (the Chipmunk Adventure, not so much.) You should do a tribute video about him. That Fellow: I'm thinking of doing one around the time Tangled comes out. It makes sense to do so, considering he has been working on it for ten years.

Comment: I loved The Chipmunk Adventure as a kid and I still enjoy watching it now. The plot was decent and combined elements of Around the World in 80 Days with a worldwide diamond smuggling operation. It was somewhat cheesy and unrealistic but all the 80’s animated movies based on Saturday morning cartoons were. The villains were two dimensional but actually had some class and were not just played for laughs. There were also original songs written for the movie which I think turned out better than the covers. I can see how the squeaky voices would get on some people’s nerves but I think they are less annoying than Woody Woodpecker’s voice.

Comment: Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait a minute. Glen Keane animated ARIEL? I knew he was the head animator behind Prof. Ratigan and the Beast from Beauty and the Beast, but fucking ARIEL? At least with the Chipmunks crap, it made sense; they were furry, just like Ratigan and Beast, but not Ariel. WTF? That Fellow: Believe it or not, he was also the supervising animator on the characters of Aladdin, Pocahontas and Tarzan.

Comment: My parents grew up with the original Chipmunk cartoons and loved them, and they both HATED the new movies! THAT'S saying somethin', folks! Thanks for reminding me of the Witch Doctor song, Fellow! I had it completely eradicated from my memory until YOU mentioning it! ARGH! And the Chipettes should NEVER have been invented! Double ARGH! Holy fuck, Glen Keane animated this crappy movie?! Glen, what the fuck were you thinking?

Comment: My mom watched Princess and the Frog with me yesterday. Guess what? She liked it more than both Chipmunk films combined. This film is magical, entertaining, and I loved every minute of it. Sadly, my niece is affected by the current generation of Chipmunks/Hannah Montana crap. And to anyone that thinks that both Chipmunk films are better than Aladdin, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Princess and the Frog, and any Disney Canon film[even their worst films like Chicken Little and Home on the Range], THEN..... [Guile:You've lost your balls.] Dang Straight! Heck Ladies Vs Butlers seems like freaking paradise compared to the Chipmunks since seiyus like Rie Kugimiya and Mai Nakahara don't have to have their voices chipmunked.

Comment: I went to see this monstrosity and the Princess and the frog in singapore, the result:The Princess and the Frog was a MASTERPIECE!,but the sqeakquel,well....let me just say that if you actually PAID to see this film and LIKE it,you might as well be locked inside the ARKUM ASYLUM and be cellmates with the Joker.THAT is how terrible the sqeakquel is! Not only that!but why did it make more money than the classic disney masterpiece that was disney's Princess and the Frog, this makes NO sense whatsoever! I understand that The Princess and the Frog is the best animated film of 2009 second to UP and that we were in disney's 3rd and most annoying dark age (1995-2009),but why is the princess and the frog so underated that people chose to watch THIS instead of one of disney's best movies. My guess is that people don't like disney animated films anymore because they think that ALL animated films are for children and that they are all bad,yes it is true that some children have bad taste, but some animated movies are dark and more for adults like the hunchback of notre dame and the black cauldron and many animated movies are great films. What kind of Parents would watch terrible films like this, not only that, but in the nickolodeon kid's choice awards 2010,Alvin and the Chipmunks:The Sqeakquel WON BEST MOVIE OF THE YEAR!It made me so FURIOUS that I THREW POPCORN AT THE TV.WHO WOULD VOTE THAT GOD-AWFUL MOTION PICTURE BEST MOVIE OF THE YEAR!

Comment: I never grew up with Alvin and the Chipmunks, but I really HATE the movies! The Princess and the Frog was my favorite animated movie of 2009 second only to UP! The Princess and the Frog should have made 2x much more money than the squeakquel, but NO! because people liked it more than the princess and the frog! Sometimes I think that people should pay to watch GOOD movies instead of motion pictures that make you want to throw your popcorn at the screen like the sqeakquel

Comment: To take a quote from the first film, "they're chipmunks, who talk. People will come." As much I hate to say this, parents see that something sweet and innocent is a positive for the kids, a basic gimmick of .... oh forget it. You get the idea. It suckers them in to see a basic idea turned like this. Apparently, they are opting for stupid humor rather than something with Randy Newman's score or wit and charm. And apparently, this makes me upset and appaled to hear that singing chipmunks and large blue smurf cats beat a Disney would have been classic. Just sad....oh btw, just so you know, liked the 80s and 60s toon when I was a kid, meh when it came to the first live-action film, never saw the 2nd (plan not to), and never saw the animated movie with the bad plot. 'Nuff said.

Comment: Fourtenetly I never growed up with Alvin & the Chipmunck and if your Character Profile is correct I would probebly have hated theme but it is something in your videos that is extremly contridictible. You have sade that you hate movies & shows with annoying steriotypes and bad lessos for the kinds(ex.Kids next Door,Alvin and the Chipmunks and Hanna Montana)so why are you so fasinated by the characters in Peter Pan,Recess and Duck Tales with are littered by characters with annoying voices, unlike bull personalitys and bad lessons(Recess are pretty much KND without weapons)? That Fellow: I guess it's a matter of opinion, as I find the characters in the three you mentioned to be likeable, funny and well-developed. So, it's not so much me contradicting myself, but rather you disagree with my opinion, which is perfectly acceptable.

Comment: Even as a kid, I never saw the appeal of the Chipmunks. I hated the cartoons (all incarnations, including the specials), I hated the songs (especially the Christmas song, which I avoided whenever the holidays came around because it made my ears bleed), and I have no desire to see the movies. I will admit, though, that I thought the intro to the 80s cartoon was rather catchy. Other than that, though, I've found the Chipmunks unbearable for all 25 years of my life.

Comment: I'm glad to see I'm not the only one out there who hates the Chipmunks. People give the films too much slack because they're children's movies, but just because they're for children doesn't mean it's okay for them to be bad. Sure some children have no taste, but if parents need to see the movie along with them I think there should be something in it for them too. I wish there were more passionate chipmunk haters out there and haters of simular films too. These CGI animal films deserve it. Not to mention the obnoxious fans who posted 'chipmunked' versions of songs on Youtube and talk about how cute they are. No one ever talks about their personality or any funny jokes from the film. It's all about their appearance and voices. You're totally right about the voice actors being irrelevant. They probably just hired them to bring some popular names to the movie. Like Jessie Macartney, all the kids seem to like him. Anyway, I've rambled on too long. Point is, the chipmunks are shallow and stupid. In the CGI film even Simon, the supposed 'smart one' of the group, never says anything more intelligent than 'I might go into insuline shock (from eating all this sweet stuff) but it's worth it'. To me this just makes him even more stupid. Sure he said 'insuline' how amazing, right? But doing something you know is bad for you, isn't how a smart person acts. Not to mention his classic line, 'We're in a building, Theodore'. His character is all tell no show. I swear if he didn't say he was the smart one I wouldn't know he was meant to be. Of course the other characters are obnoxious, but Simon offends me in particular, since I'm a genuine nerd and he's a 'cutified' nerd, since actual nerds don't sell. Then there's Theodore who's only trait is cuteness. That's all he was ever intended to be. This is clear from the chipmunks' introduction when Alivin and Simon state their supposed traits (awesomeness and intelligence) and Theodore just says 'and I'm Theodore' as if any personality we was given would just make him less cute. Whoops, I thought I was going to stop rambling. I still don't feel I've gotten everything off my chest. Oh well.

Comment: I think Disney's stupid release schedule played a part in this. They released "A Christmas Carol" on Nov. 6, "Old Dogs" on Nov. 25, and "Princess" on Dec. 11. I think "Princess" may have made more money if it switched dates with "Old Dogs" and if Disney has marketed it as a big Thanksgiving release (they released in N.Y. and L.A. that weekend instead). Of course, it would have competed with "The Blind Side" and "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," but it still could have made a few more million dollars. If nothing else, at least it made less than movies like "Up" and "Avatar."

Comment: Apparently, I was talking to my mom about if she and my niece wanted to see The Princess and the Frog, but they decided to see The Squeakuel. But don't worry Fellow, I've rented Princess and the Frog from Blockbuster[using a MyCokeRewards coupon] and I enjoyed it. As for the Squeakquel, it's better left being watched at a BlockBuster display[since I saw the ending parts on a display at Blockbuster]. Sadly, if you all want to do your PS3 a favor, don't infect it with the Chipmunks Virus.

Comment: THANK YOU!!! GOD, you have no idea how FURIOUS I was, seeing how The Squeakquel made more money than The Princess and the Frog. Here's an extra piece of trivia for you though, Fellow. Because The Princess and the Frog wasn't a big success as Disney had hoped for, they changed the next film's title, "Rapunzel", to "Tangled" where the prince is the main character instead, and so far, I saw an incomplete trailer of Tangled where it seems there's more humor involved. Disney thinks the audiences may like more comedy. Makes you wonder, doesn't it? Nonetheless, I feel so much of your pain.

Comment: While I did hate them while I was younger and I can hardly stand them now, I did find the 80's movie to be fun, I'm sorry to say. It was a guilty pleasure then and it is now. I just love the locations and animation but I will say that the voices are very grating and can't really stand to watch much of it anymore but it is a piece of Nostalgia I don't think I can shake off.
