Comment: Actually the reason the third movie of the rescuers got cancelled wasn't the box office but the fact that the voice actress of Bianca died, and the studio felt that she wasn't replacable. There is a simple rule for Disney-Sequels: If they are made by the Toon studios, they are decent at best (although some of the TV-Shows were fun, especially Aladdin). If they are made by the actual animation studios, they are great.

Comment: You're wrong about Lilo & Stitch TV series.
The whole plot of every Pokemon video game in the main series from Blue/Red/Yellow to more recent Black & White is about becoming a Pokemon master and defeating enemies who step in your way as well as battling each other.
Lilo & Stitch more likely following the same plot as Dinosaur Dinosaur King, do some research.

Comment: You should see Nostalgia Chick's review of Beauty and The Beast: The Enchanted Christmas it's her best review yet (good thing she didn't see that other BATB midquel).
I don't like Simba's Pride very much mostly due to poor scripting and the songs barely top the songs from its predecessor. At least the other sequel is better.

Comment: I wonder if Disney will be making any more cartoon series based on the movies. Although I don't think Tangled or The Princess and the Frog would work, Bolt is just begging for a series. I wouldn't be surprised if the show within the movie actually started getting made.

Comment: Good thing that they're not making those "cheapquels" anymore. I'm serious, they are completely useless, no one likes them anyway (except for Disney nerds) and they're nothing but low-budget films that end up getting negative reviews.

Comment: Oh yes, these. Now, most of these, I wasn't interested in them. However, I will explain my favorites. I truly enjoyed The Rescuers Down Under. It was terrific! I like the sequels to Aladdin, both Return of Jafar and King of the 40 thieves. I did see The Enchanted Christmas a long time ago, but I haven't seen it again. I do have The Lion King 1 1/2 and I will see The Lion King 2. I somewhat enjoyed both The Little Mermaid 2 and Ariels Beginning, and yes, Melody did become a popular character. As for Return To Neverland, I did not go to the theatres to see, instead, I rented it. Oh well. Well, for Lilo and Stitch, I only saw Stitch The Movie. And I did see and enjoyed An Extremely Goofy Movie. However, as for the rest, I didn't care about them at all. However, good riddance to the Chicken Little sequel! Now for the TV spin offs. I really enjoyed Talespin, Aladdin, Hercules, Timon and Pumbaa, 101 Dalmatians, The Little Mermaid, Lilo and Stitch, and The Jungle Cubs. For the rest, I didn't bother with them at all. And as for the Tinkerbell movie, I think I'm going to ignore them.

Comment: The best thing about the Lion King Sequels is that they really ran w/the fact that the first one turned out so similar to Hamlet... I really think "The Lion King" is Disney's greatest film, even though "Beauty and the Beast" took home the Academy nod, and the Golden Globe... it's my favorite animated movie of all time, and is right behind The Lord of the Rings (I consider it one film in three parts) as my favorite movie.
I also think Disney needs to stop with the sequels... and I REALLY HATE THOSE TINKERBELL MOVIES!!!!!
I don't think Disney has any respect for Hans Christian Anderson... sorry Denmark...
I gotta say I think the worst sequel is the Mulan one b/c somewhere during the movie we COMPLETELY LOSE the main plot... so... I guess we can thank Mulan for the Mongol takeover of China... nice one! That brings Mulan's earlier accomplishment of saving China to zilch... since apparantly she just later screwed up something so bad that some other guys took over the country instead...
I LOVE TALESPIN!!! It's so weird though, b/c it has absolutely NOTHING to do with "The Jungle Book" except retaining some of the characters and drastically anthropomorphising them... that said; I gotta love the air pirates...
Alladin I like... but the CONTINUITY ALARM hits me EVERY time w/ the not married thing and GENIE'S FREAKING MANACLES!!! Clearly he's NOT supposed to have them!!! I think he might even have them in the sequels as well... and that's... DING! DING! DING! OMG...
I sorta wanted to see some of the characters from "Star Command" appear in the 3rd Toy Story... oh well... it was still the best of the three, and an overall terrfic film, plus IT HAD A TOTORO... I LOVE TOTORO...
I'm also glad the series/direct to video things seem to be dead... THANK YOU JOHN LASSETER!!!
Here's hoping "Tangled" is as good as "The Princess & the Frog"... although I lament it's not hand drawn...

Comment: HEY!! I LOVED "Pocahontas" even if others think it was stupid! Also, I liked most of the DTV sequels Disney came out with when I was little. Most of them. Why do you not like Mel Gibson? It's because of "Passion of the Christ" Isn't it? Huh? HUH?!?!?

Comment: It seems Disney liked to kick off a lot of it's animated series with DTV movies. Buzz Lightyear of Star Command and Lilo & Stitch The Series started with movies. By the way I love Lilo and Stitch the Series. I also really liked Aladdin 3 and Beauty and the Beast 2. I'm just saying.

Speaking of Pokémon (pronounced po-kuh-mahn), next year is the franchise's 15th anniversary and Nintendo's planning the next installment in teir video game francise, Pokémon Black & Pokémon White.
And Gamesradar named it as the most mispronounced video game title ever.

and somewhat accurate. would of liked to of seen the little mermaid's little daughter act the way she did as you talked about it. instead of just letting a clip roll on for filler and nothing more.
but other than that, nice video.

Comment: The Rescuers Down Under is the only one of those movies I've seen - I liked it but as an Australian the lack of Australian accents annoyed me. Aladdin is the only one of those spin-off I've seen, though I enjoyed it when I was younger. Toy Story 2 notwithstanding I just don't why Disney waste their time and money producing these TV spin-offs and direct-to-DVD sequels - most suck and it's just lazy and uncreative

Comment: Yeah, I agree Jasmine looks like she had a nose job. And I agree, Robin Williams is the only actor who can play the Genie well (thank God he was in the third movie again!) And you know how a lot of great Disney villains have great songs? Well, Marina Del Ray from The Little Mermaid 3 was a sucky villain and she had a sucky song. 'Nuff said.

Comment: I used to actually WATCH the TV shows based on the movies (mostly because I was a child and would've watched anything that had the name Disney tied to it.) And I don't know about you, Fellow, but I was PISSED when they didn't cast Nathan Lane to voice Timon on most of the episodes of "Timon and Pumbaa." I mean, come on, he WAS Timon!
That Fellow: Well, along with being an established voice actor, he's also a pretty big stage actor and so he was likely busy doing some show on Broadway to record for all of the episodes.Name: Jordan

Comment: The only thing I like about Return to Neverland was the song, "I'll Try", it really represent when one feels about their childhood and leaving it behind. It shame that such a great song is feature in a sort of low notice movie, kinda like Evilmania from FRO7 or Betcha Never from Mystery of Batwoman.
I really can't stand the fact that Cinderella 3 (which I kinda like because it gave a darker twist on very simple story), Fox and the Hound 3, and Little Mermaid 3 were either midquels or Interquels to their movies, it was like the writers were too lazy to come up with proper titles to them.

Comment: First Alvin & the Chipmunks and than this, hope you have your usual possitive side back in next episode.
That Fellow: Don't worry, the next number of months will be filled with more positive videos. when it comes to this sequals personly I think that the best is the two Lion King sequals and Lilo & Stitch 2 and the worst is definetly The Fox & the Hound 2. when it comes to the show we have completly diffrent tast.
Talespin: copy off Ducktales.
The Little Mermaid:talked down to younger kids.
Aladdin:hated the movie so I hated the show.
Timon & Pumbaa:one of the best lay back cartoons ever.
Jungle Cubs:tadd better than Talespin but still very cliche.
Hercules: I learnd more from that show than from school.
Legend of Tarzan: terrific.
Lilo & stitch:just ok.
Emperors new shool:hade annoying characters.
did you know that they did a three minnute short with the characters from Home on the Range?
That Fellow: That, I had no idea, but then again, Disney seems to start these sequels and series even when the first one would still be yet released. Atlantis, anyone?Name: Biruka

Comment: In my opinion Aladdin sequals and Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch has a Glitch are best sequals.
I agrie that Return of Jafar has poor animation but Iago has his best moments in that movie and because that I don't think him as just another comical villans' sidekick. King of Thiveas raps trilogy and series pretty good giving good finale for Aladdin. Series deepend characters a lot.
L&S2 had to my opnion one of the best saddest moments in animation when Stitch nearly dies. Sure he lives but for a moment Disney makes that he is really dead. I don't muchly care for series timeline, but Rob Paulsen did pretty good job as voice of 625/Reuben.
LK2: Simba's pride has few problems:
- Kiara is brat when she's cub and brainless bimbo when she's young adult
-Film has lots a plotpoints that are never expalted like who is father of Zira's cub, where is Sarabi and Sarafina, where Zira was when first movie and most important : why outlanders were banished
-Character's colourings are mest up and characters are off-model
-Timon and Pumbaa are more annoying

Comment: Nice look back. It's pretty unfortunate that these Disney classics had unneeded continuations and... woah what? There was going to be a Chicken Little 2?!?! *Shudders* Thank God THAT never happened! The first was bad enough already.
Anyway, I definitely Agree with The Lion King 2, though I didn't enjoy 1 1/2 as much. And I actually liked the Aladdin sequels. For the classic Straight-to-DVD, I honestly admit I actually a lot of Bambi II for its connecting plot to the original.

Comment: DUDE! Where's your coat??!!
Okay, a few things (read: a big-ass rant coming on)...
Rescuers Down Under - FRICKIN' LOVED IT. I maintain that if this had been a hit, the quality of all subsequent sequels would have been considerably higher.
Return of Jafar - I grew up on this one. "Second Rate" is an AWESOME villain song, and Dan C. did the best he could as the Genie (which was also AWESOME). I went through a brief spell of hating on this movie for its animation, then mellowed when I realized "Hey, it coulda been worse".
No comment on "Prince of Thieves" since I never saw it.
Lion King II - Agreed. Decent sequel.
Lion King 1 1/2 - DISAGREE. I just can't accept this midquel, especially since it breaks continuity with a similar backstory episode in the "Timon and Pumbaa" series (GEEK ALERT! XD)
B & B Enchanted Christmas - Saw it once. In the 5th grade. Meh.
Little Mermaid II - Ugh. I could write a whole piece on this one. It's bad enough that the sequel made me feel old with it's 10-year time gap, but it could have been SO MUCH BETTER. If they were going to cheapen it by making Ariel's DAUGHTER the main focus, I think it would have been awesome if Morgana had kidnapped Melody and made her like a servant/surrogate daughter, thus developing some emotional attachment to her ala "Treasure Planet". Oh, and if the Timon and Pumbaa knock-offs Tip and Dash were written out of the story entirely.
Lady and the Tramp 2 - Saw it, but I never really grew up with the original, so meh.
Return to Neverland - Once again, meh.
As far as the animated series go: I was big on Aladdin. That was some solid after-school 3PM entertainment right there! I only owned to "Little Mermaid" episodes on VHS, I agree with you on "Timon and Pumbaa" and "Jungle Cubs", but "Buzz Lightyear of Star Command"?....*shudders*...I'm sorry - we owned the VHS of the direct-to-video movie/pilot, and I was NOT impressed. Maybe the jump to 2D animation lost me but...I dunno...it just seemed so BORING!
Oh well - to each its own, I guess.
XD
There. I'm done. Rant over.
