Comment: People need to stop saying that Nightmare on Elm Street was inspired by Halloween, it's absolute BS. Wes Craven has never seen one single horror film during that time, except for Night of the Living Dead in the 60's. This is the same guy who got the reptuation of Master of Horror from his first horror movie Last House on the Left. The majority of his movie were religously related as he was raised by Catholics, the kind that say "Praise Jesus or you will go to Hell." I could go on but there is so much to say. Just read his biography The Man and His Nightmares and watch Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy.

Comment: I have to say that my favorite horror comedy is young frankenstein, but I also like abbot and costello meet frandenstein. Gremlins is my favorite. My favorite movie of all time is the origional version of the phantom of the opera, which I don't consider a horror film, because its more of a hunchback of notre dame type, which is not horror. It's a little refreshing to not go over the classic b&w films, because those have already been talked to death.

Comment: Return of the Living Dead was the one that introduced fast-paced zombies. Despite Psycho as the first slasher, both Black Christmas and Silent Night Bloody Night introduced the slasher genre in 1974, 4 years before Halloween. You should do more research.

Comment: As far as zombies are concerned, I maintain that Frankenstein's creation is a zombie. He's made from the parts of seven dead men and brought to life by a mad scientist. Frankenstein's creation is a zombie!

Comment: Friday the 13th is a copy of Halloween! That wouldn't be such a problem if at least the film was good. But not only it wasn't scary but it was exactly the same over and over, every scene is just like the other and ALL TH FRIDAY THE 13TH MOVIES ARE EXACTLY THE SAME!

Comment: I like horror movies that deal with the human mind and pychological problems. The Supernatural and the inner demons.
But I have a guilty love for Slasher flicks.
( Are You Afraid of the Dark used to scare the mess out of me. )

Comment: The creatures in The Evil Dead are deadites which are corpses possesed by demons, not zombies. Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Black Christmas brought slasher genre in the 70s.
Plan 9 is actually science fiction not horror.
And what about 28 Days Later? That's made before Dawn of the Dead remake.
You forgot Goosebumps and Tales from the Crypt.
