Comment: Hey, Fellow, have you seen Doctor Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog? It's a three-part former web video (now on DVD) that's alos a musical directed by Joss Whedon (creator of Buffy). I highly reccomend it! That Fellow: Since I made this video, I have seen it and while I don't know if it would make the list, I did greatly enjoy it. Can't go wrong with Nathan Fillion and Joss Whedon!

Comment: Why not any Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals in this list? Not a fan of his work? Also, I HATED the ORIGINAL "Dr. Dolittle" MOVIE! IT MADE THE EDDIE MURPHY MOVIES LOOK LIKE MASTERPIECES!

Comment: Did you know the original singer of the song "Pennies from Heaven", Louie Prima (& his band), was heighered by Disney to perform the famous, "I Wanna Be Like You" song in "The Jungle Book" yes... Louie, the King of the Apes, was based off of real life scat singer Louie Prima. The Wizard of Oz is a good movie to be sure, despite my qualms with the ways it deviates from the book. I still REALLY wish Mr. Baum had lived long enough to have really gotten his film studio off the ground. I still maintain the best Oz movies are the ones his studio made. They're hard to find, but worth a watch. I LOVE THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG!!! Mostly... I love Dr. Facilier... he's awesome!!! Actually, all the characters are awesome!!! (well... I don't care that much about Louis... but only b/c I felt he detracted from the overall strength of the film) BTVS?! Okay... I'm a bit surprised to see these are mostly so recent... when I think of my favorite musicals I think of "The Music Man" (1962), and "Dr. Dolittle" (1967) both these films have songs in them that are classics, but that seem to be seldom associated w/ the original musical. These songs are "Til There Was You" (Music Man)... I think a lot of people have heard the cover The Beatles did of this song, and "Beautiful Things" (Dr. Dolittle) I think probably many more people know this enchanting song than have seen the movie it came from. Of course I think most people know "Talk to the Animals" and that it has to do with Dr. Dolittle, even if they haven't seen the 3 hour 1967 musical starring Rex Harrison. I REALLY HATE that they made those AWFUL new Dr. Dolittle movies w/Eddie Murphy... not only do they suck... now when people think about Dr. Dolittle they think of that. I wish more people would seek out the 1967 version, despite it's being 3 hrs. long, it is certainly worth a watch.

Comment: I loved your list just as good as the first. But, I was very ,very dissapointed with your #1 choice. I mean come on,an episode of Buffy: The Vampire Slayer. If were a reviewer like you I would try to find another great disney musical movie for my number one next best musical and if I would name a musical episode of a TV series it would be "This Little Piggy" from Justice League Unlimted and even (be free to laugh at this comment) Batman (Kevin Conroy) sings a song.

Comment: This list was awesome! I love musicals!!!! Anyways after seeing this I thought of a couple musicals Im most positive would like =D One is actually created and directed by Joss Whedon(all the whedons actually took part in it) It's called Dr.Horrible's sing-along blog, its an amzing story all done within 45 minutes and was made exclusively for the internet! The Buffy the Vampire episode reminded me of it =) another one is called into the woods which is a mash up of Brothers Grimm fairy tales like Cinderella and little red riding hood and stuff, only its a lot more complex and in a way like a social commentary on fairy tales and how in the real world things wouldn't always turn out the way that fairy tales do, while also strengthening the morals of the fairy tales, tough its also verry funny and charming =) there isnt a movie version though :( but there is a professional recording of the broadway production its really worth looking into =D

Comment: Okay, I'll admit I'm not a huge fan of the musical genre, unless animated wich then increases my suspension of disbelief. Still, a good movie is a good movie, and I admit that I've got a few (non-animated) musicals in my library too. I was glad to see my favorite Cabaret finally making yor list, it's a great film indeed. i was however a bit sad you didn't include Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. But everyone to there own I guess. Always glad to hear your opinions on films, fellow.
