Comment: @Anonymous- I actually agree with him about the crisp and clean animation. It kinda takes away from the visual humor as it feels like it's trying too hard to look good.

Comment: You Simpsonized yourself? Cool, I've done that before. I agree, the show went down in the end. But I can't help loving the show. Also (this is no problem) my favourite character's shows were not mentioned, and I think they appear in a lot of people's favourites, at least the third one does. I am talking about the episodes that feature the voice of Kelsey Grammer in the role of Krusty's ex-sidekick and attempted murderer known as Sideshow Bob. He is my favourite character because he is a very three-dimensional character, in spite of cartoon-villain tendencies.

Comment: I have to agree with others in the comments. This was a very lazy video, badly explained, you barely put the slightest dent in The Simpson's actual important and relevance in your very glossing backhanded treatment of it, and your reasons for not liking the show itself in general are extremely nitpicky at best.
All in all, even as a very casual Simpsons watcher, I feel you did the show and it's relevance no justice at all here, not to mention the lack of explanation of it's real staying power with this glancing, almost disrespectful sloppy afterthought of a video.
You say you have the utmost respect for the series, but yet the video seems entirely half-hearted with little effort, and no real explanation of WHY or WHERE this supposed "respect" of yours comes from, as if you barely even wanted to do this video with any care, and it shows.

Comment: To me it just sounds weird to hear someone say they're not a fan of "The Simpsons". I know you don't hate it, but hearing that come from a cartoon lover just sounds weird. Well, I will always love "The Simpsons". I actually think it would be very sad if it ended. That's like if "Sesame Street" ended or if Warner Bros. ditches Bugs Bunny and the Looney Tunes gang, or Nintendo ending the Super Mario franchise. It just can't happen. I agree with you about "The Simpsons Movie" it was fantastic. And while I still love the show, I'll admit, it's early years were the best years. But "The Simpsons" is still the greatest adult animated sitcom ever. While I love "Futurama", "King of the Hill", "Family Guy" and "The Critic" they got nothin' on good ol' Homer, and I don't care what people say, but I honestly don't like "South Park" very much at all. Oh well good look-back. I was amused by the intro, and you did a good job explaining your opinions (though I disagree with some of them on this subject), but I agree with Private that you should've delve deeper. Decent episode though.

Comment: In the words of Simpsons character Jeff Albertson: "Worst Look Back Ever!"
You could of at least delve more deeper than just scraping the surface.

Comment: Nice job. I actually feel quite the same as you. I never exactly was a huge fan of the show. Although the Treehouse of Horror episodes of the past were rather monumental. And the Simpsons Movie...still felt like an extended episode. It was funny, but not as upscale as it should have been. Can't wait for the Futurama episode next week!

Comment: I'm also a Futurama lover! Can't wait for that! Unfortunately, the new episodes aren't nearly as good as the old ones, but hopefully they'll get better and step back into quality story and out of the "throw anything nerdy in there" rut they seem to be in... I want to see more contuinity with established characters, and less shallow "fanservice" type content... as for "The Simpsons" I agree w/you... it's an okay show, but it is definitely overrated.

Comment: I loved the movie, but by the time that was released I had seen everything. Deep down I will always like the Simpsons, but I just can't understand why the show needs to keep having new episodes because it doesn't make the show new, in my opinion the show has gotten too old for the airwaves, and that alone is the reason why I stopped watching it. Anymore, it seems as though Fox is just keeping the show on the air just for the sake of having it around, and is doing so based on their own method of interpreting audience ratings which is not by television homes as a whole but by measuring specific target demographics. And in regards to Seth MacFarlane, you are right that he owes it to the Simpsons for his own success but not for the reason you think. The way I see it, it's his job to make cookie cutter shows that can ride the success of Family Guy, all for the sole purpose of boosting the Simpsons ratings on Sunday night, therefore giving Fox the case for keeping the Simpsons on the air. And about the pop culture references and celebrity guest stars, for as much as they have used them I think they have actually done more to date the show rather than keep it fresh, and that adds to why the show has gotten old. I think the reason why even older franchises are able to stay respectful is because they DON'T use them as much or not at all.

Comment: My favorite era was the first 9 seasons I never get tired of them, season 17 is where it jumped the shark big time, while usually grounded and realistic for the most part about then is when the show got really wacky, off the wall insane, and cartoony, and like you mentioned a big reasoning for this is all of the original writers have left.

Comment: I do like the Simpsons a lot, but I think they are very overrated. IGN named it the best animed tv series of all time in their top 100. That's exagerating.

Comment: I love your subtle Conan refrence. I used to love the Simpsons. Not so much with the newer episodes. I agree with you. They're too much into pop culture refrences. Also, yeah, the animation is feels too clean.
