Comment: My dad is a trekkie, part of the reason I grew tired with these movies but that's beside the point. IMO, Wrath of Khan is when Star Trek became Star Trek, we really see depth in Kirk for the first time when he realizes that death is not avoidable, no matter how many times you beat a no-win scenario. Search For Spock is acceptable in that it's the bridge between II and IV but it seemed to be too much about getting from point A to point B and the plot was a little too predictable. Voyage Home is often thought of as the best of the original cast movies, but I actually have come to dislike it over time, the plot is too much about making mankind feel bad about killing whales and seemed as though the 1980's focus has made it age poorly compared to other films. Final Frontier was a waste of time and accomplished nothing. Undiscovered Country with the Klingons and the Federation finally finding a way to live in peace was fortunately a great conclusion for the old cast. Generations was an obligatory "Pass The Baton" for Picard to be the movie hero. First Contact was the only worthwhile film with the NG cast, Picard struggling with the Borg and showing the depth of his character, plus it's what Voyage Home only dreamed it could be, a chance to save Earth with real action and suspense and without concern for becoming aged. Insurrection was like Final Frontier, a waste. And the Nemesis was not imaginative, more or less it was too derivative of Wrath of Khan, especially with it's ending. The new movie I hated at first but I have come to like it more as I watched it a second time over. I like seeing the character beginnings and plus the less serious feel I think has done enough to make it a movie for everyone and not just keeping po-faced trekkies happy.

Comment: Will it be likely that you'll do a Star Wars tribute/lookback? Don't get me wrong I like both Star Wars and Star Trek and I heard George Lucas is a treker/trekie and the orginal series inspired him to make Star Wars.

Comment: There was also an episode of Star Trek Deep Space Nine where the crew went back in time to the Trouble with Tribbles episode. The tribbles went forward in time with the DS9 crew and a bad guy tries to kill the tribbles by using a bomb that's disguised as a tribble. My favorite part is when they try to search for the bomb with all those tribbles in there.
