Comment: Love the Mario games, so simple but so damn fun! Even though I'm more of a Sonic fan, I'm slowly turning to Mario's side. I think it's because SEGA forgot the old saying "if it isn't broke, don't fix it!" Problem no.1 with many videogames mostly Sonic ones! But I think SEGA did something right with Generations so yeah, overall Mario's better even if his formula is very repititive!

Comment: This is very interesting and I'm willing to explore the history of various video game brands. As for the Mario franchise, I always have enjoyed those games and respect them all, but my most favorites are the Yoshi series (i.e. Yoshi's Island, Yoshi's Story), the main series games (i.e. New Super Mario Bros., Super Mario 64, Super Mario Galaxy), the Mario/Sonic crossovers (i.e. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games), the Super Smash Bros. series and the Mario RPGs (i.e. Super Mario RPG, the Paper Mario series, the Mario & Luigi series). Funny how no one rants about the Mario series games, whereas with the Sonic series the rants are ridiculous (i.e. I liked Sonic 2006, people. Stop throwing such whiny fits on how "bad" it is. It may be a poor game but that doesn't stop some Sonic fans from liking it whenever they want to). Not to mention that there is a lot more bad fanfiction of the Sonic series then there is of the Mario series despite the fact that Mario is the most famous, recognizable and iconic face of video games and still more famous and recognizable then Sonic is, even though Sonic is multiplatform and has been on more systems then Mario, whereas Mario will always be Nintendo-exclusive due to being Nintendo's series (Not offending anyone, just being honest. I'm a Sonic fan as well, except that I'm a good fan of that series, not a bad one). If you wouldn't mind, it would be interesting if you'd do something on Star Fox, since I'm a fan of the Star Fox series, as well. Or at least a Character Profile on Fox McCloud, who happens to be my favorite video game hero of all time. I'm not begging or anything, all that I'm giving is a suggestion.

Comment: Great video, Mr. Coat. Mario video games are awesome. Can you do a rant on modern video games and other video games that you hate? I've always, want to see you complain about motion controls. Thank you and good luck. :)

Comment: Nice! I still think you should have mentioned Super Mario Sunshine since that was a sequel to Super Mario 64 but oh well. Can you do a lookback for Sonic aswell? Mr. Coat: I've already made a Character Profile of Sonic the Hedgehog. :-)

Comment: I know. Many people ain't too kind to movies based off video games. For example, I hated "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time".

Comment: It's really too bad that video game based movies tend to suck so badly... I liked the story and characters of "LOZ Twilight Princess" so much that I decided as my own little project to adapt the game to a sort of a novel/narrative form. Maybe someday we can turn things around and make good video game based films... if only they stuck closer to the plots already in the games... many games have quite compelling stories and characters, the best in my opinion is Dragonquest 8 for the PS2... the characters are complex, the plot is exciting, and overall the story is what kept me playing the game... the one problem is IT'S REALLY LONG... You know, you actually look a lot like Mario... a little less chubby, though...

Comment: What do you think about the other nintendo franchises like The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Kirby, Pokemon ( the games not the cartoon )? Do you plan to do anything about them? PS: Have you played the last Mario game: Super Mario Galaxy 2? I have and it's a major improvement over the already superb original game. Everything that was wrong about the first one was fixed and everything that was right was improved. You can even play with Yoshi and Luigi (Yay). But the last star (n°242) its so damm hard; it took me nearly 200 tries to get it.

Comment: @Brian- I personally prefer the second and mario M/L games myself. First off, the best thing about these games is that not only do they require serious skill to pull off the Bros techniques, but you can even avoid taking in damage while sometimes being able to counter-attack. Didn't care for Partners in Time. Sure, playing as the babies is fun for a while but even that doesn't make up for the fact that the game doesn't even give you the option of using previously obtained abilities outside of battle (Each area forces you to repeatedly use the one you just learned while pretending the others don't exist) the battles that, quite frankly, take too long for an M/L game, Bros Items (Worst idea ever!) and the fact that the babies only serve to make the cutscenes longer. (Yeah, that's right, Luigi, don't take the Yoshi cookie yourself. Give it to your baby self after he just stuffed himself with at least 30)

Comment: Have you ever tried the RPG's of mario? like super mario legend of the seven stars, the paper Mario's, the mario and luigi saga games for the ds and when the 3ds comes out another paper mario will come out. My picks is legend of the seven stars and the mario and luigi saga games. Legend of the seven stars was one of the last games that came out for the super NES and is a great game where you not only play Mario but also Peach, Bower and two new characters who I think should come back in another game Mallow and Geno. the Mario and luigi saga games do a very good job of the team work you have to do with Mario and luigi. In the 2 rd game you even play as baby Mario and Luigi as well as Mario and Luigi themselves. the 3 rd game you go inside Bower and you also can play as Bower. I hope you will try these games if haven't try them already and sorry that I can't tell you more. I just didn't want this comment to be too long. I'll comment again soon. See ya.

Comment: Great Job! I've always been wondering why are the Mario games so hard? Whenever I play them I die a lot and if it's Mario Kart I usually end up in a bad finish (6th place-).

Comment: Bob Hoskin said that S.M.B was a F***ing nightmare and called it the worst thing he was ever in. I don't blame him! Seeing the late, great Dennis Hopper being reduced to that is just unbearable! Thank god he had Speed the following year to make up for it.
