Comment: You forgot Coraline and 9. That Fellow: I didn't "forget" them. Burton had absolutely no involvement with Coraline and while he was a producer on 9, that was more Shane Acker's pet project.

Comment: I think you forgot a few of his films such as Sleepy Hollow. Is it because you haven't seen them? That Fellow: No, it's because sometimes certain films don't get mentioned in these tributes for time reasons. Pee-Wee's Big Adventure is the only film of his I haven't seen.

Comment: Really. So, back to my original question: I wonder if Burton's "Vincent" short inspired Disney to cast Price in GMD?

Comment: And I just realized that "Vincent" was probably released AFTER The Great Mouse Detective. So, scratch my final comment. That Fellow: Actually, Vincent was made all of the way back in 1982, when Tim Burton was still working as an animator at Disney.

Comment: Hold on just a second. TIM BURTON, one of the most epic directors in movie history, did a short film about VINCENT PRICE, one of the most epic actors in movie history?! I remain quiet on the outside, but both the Burton fangirl and the Price fangirl inside of me are SCREAMING for joy right now! I wonder if the Burton short inspired Disney to cast Price in The Great Mouse Detective?
