Comment: Those are some great villains and Darth Vader is an excellent pick, though personally (even within the context of just the Original Trilogy) he to me is more of a tragic hero at the end of the day rather than a full on villain. Seeing as he was a good man that was corrupted to darkness and in the end repented by destroying the lead villain. Speaking of which I know I'm in the minority but I'd actually pick Darth Sidious/Emperor Palpatine as one of my fave villains, cause in reality he is the real villain of the saga. Ian McDiarmid was able to deliver at times eleogance, and others a fun yet still intimimidating megalomania without ever going too over the top. I don't know, just my thoughs.

Comment: Nice video, but I think one underrated villian was missed. General Woundwort from "Watership Down" (1978) I was really creeped out by this character's psychotic personality when I watched the movie on YouTube. Plus I really liked his voice, provided by Harry Andrews, which was grisly, intimidating and creepy. Why is he not in there? Have you never seen the film? I'm just curious.

Comment: HAL 9000 is a super computer not a robot, the category should of been named "Artificial Intelligance" and False Maria from Metropolis isn't the antagonist it's actually her creator C.A. Rotwang.

Comment: Every single Die Hard villian should be along with Hans Gruber; Colonal Stuart managed to crash a plane killing hundreds of passengers, Simon Gruber managed to steal gold ricks as an act of revenge (Fuck Scar Simon is a better villian Jeremy Irons has portrayed), who would ever thought that a group of hackers lead by thomas Gabriel can cause a global collapse since the world focused on computers and electronics.

Comment: I know I'm going to get hell for this But Darth Vader is NOT the greatest movie villian, Hanibal Lecter is why because Vader is a Minion, following the orders of Grand Morf Targan in a new hope and the Emperoar in the other movies where he becomes an Anti Hero in Return of the Jedi by Killing Pallpatine

Comment: @coolclaytony: I believe you mean "Night on BALD Mountain," not "Night on BLUE Mountain." And yeah, I definitely got that feel, too, when watching "Be Prepared."

Comment: i think the scene for "Be Prepared" was inspired by "Night on Blue Mountain" from "Fantasia".

Comment: Two types of villain to add to that list is the alien villain (movie examples include Men in Black, Indepence Day, War of the Worlds) and the non-Disney animated villain.

Comment: You have the defintion of anti-hero wrong. Anti-heroes aren't the same as antagonists, They're the same as heroes but have differeny goals, acheive them differently from the typical heroes as well as committing acts that a typical person wouldn't do. Examples include Alice from the Resident Evil films, Ellen Ripley from Alien, John Rambo, Jason Bourne, John McClane from Die Hard series, Cloud from Final Fantasy 7, Shadow from Sonic The Hedgehog video games, Oh Dae-Su from Oldboy, Tetsuo from Akira and Lisbeth Salander from Millenium trilogy

Comment: I thought Frollo should have been the most evil Disney villain. I mean he's intimidating, he has power (political not magical),people fear him when hes around them, and kills the main character's own mother because she was a gypsy and has prejudice trowed gypsys. And he has the most chilling, dark, mature Disney song of all time Hellfire. In fact the song is so dark you see the concept art the made for the song after Alan Makken and Stephen Schwartz wrote the song on the internet on a Wikipedia link.

Comment: Liked this feature, thought it was going to be a new top list instead you did an interesting look on different types of villains. Some constructive critisism though: 1. An anti-hero is not a villain as a main character. Anti-heroes are still heroes, although they don't use classical heroic means to gain what they want. Examples of Anti-heroes are Wolverine (killing your enemies), Sam Spade or my favorite The Man With No Name. Still, there are movies where the villain or a villain is the main protagonist. But simply being sympathetic and a protagonist despite being a bad guy does not make a character an Anti-hero. 2. What about another popular film villain? The Psychopath. They've been around for a while and are usually normal human beings with a lack of moral who simply act evil (in lack of a better word). Some psychopaths on film include Anton Chigurh from No Country for Old Men (as Matt mentioned), Patrick Bateman from American Psycho and of course my favorite: Hannibal Lecter from Silence of the Lambs. 3. Another villain I think you missed was the Monster. Like vampires, werewolves and zombies. Where my favorite is Dracula. Well, guess that's about it. But just for fun, what are your favorite villains in the category Psychopaths and Monsters? That Fellow: In regards to Anton, I thought he was meant to represent the Devil, so I considered naming him under the demon category, but then realised it was my own personal interpretation. As for the biggest psychopath, I would say that Bateman and Lecter certainly come out on top. Best monster might be Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
