Comment: To Joshua Orou: Really, I never knew that! I know that Tezuka did Kimba the White Lion (thanks to AniMat for that lil' piece of trivia) but never Unico! Wow! :O

Comment: A little trivia, in the anime released in 2003 Tenma was a major villain and I believe in one episode, Astro remembers part of his past which I think had Tenma wanting to possibly use Astro for evil.(since he was a douche in that series) Another thing I MUST mention is that in that series, they changed the name of Elefun to Oshea (or however you spell it!) This confused me a lot! But I kept watching either way! As for the butt guns! I saw it in the 1980 anime and seeing it in the movie, IT WAS HILLARIOUS!

Comment: I remember the anime when it was on, it still have episodes on vhs, sadly I didn't grow up with the first one but the second series. When I heard this movie being announced, I WENT BERZERK! cause I loved the series on tv along with Digimon, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Sonic X, this is a true classic! and therefore is on my list of top 15 animes!

Comment: Too bad this movie BOMBED at the box-office. Maybe some day some animation studio will be able to do an animated film version of another one of Osamu Tezuka's most well-known characters, Kimba the White Lion, and actually do it justice. On second thought, that will never happen because of that STUPID controversy that Disney's "The Lion King" is a rip-off of it.

Comment: If you want good Nicholas Cage films watch Face/Off and Leaving Las Vegas (he won an Oscar for that role).

Comment: Staying true to the source material? I wouldn't exactly say that. In all three incarnations of the anime series and the manga, Toby died in car crashes. Outer space energy cores had nothing to do with his death.
