Comment: One villain song I really like that wasn't on the list was Don't Fall in Love by Beauty and the Beast Enchanted Christmas where Forte (played by Tim Curry) tries to get Beast to not fall in love and while he's singing it he attacks Beast with music and he says stuff that you don't really hear a child's movie. "You'll go to pot, you'll turn to drink."

Great list! Although I think you should have added "Friends On The Other Side" from Princess and the Frog. That song is fantastic!!!

I went way to far.

Comment: Sorry boys, but your list is not complete without Trust in Me by the villain Kaa from The Jungle Book. Don't get me wrong, Kaa is definitely upstaged by the perpetually suave and epic-chinned Shere Khan, but Trust in Me is probably the creepiest villain song after Hellfire that I've ever heard. You have all these upbeat jazzy songs in this movie...and then there's this sinister lullaby oozing creepiness. I dare you to listen to it and not feel uncomfortable or even shiver a little.

Comment: jafar also does Second rate from The Return of Jafar. Saluk does his own villain song in the third Aladdin movie. in the stage version of the Little Mermaid Ursula had more than Poor Unfortunate Souls, she had Wasting Away (Demo), and good times back. the eels also have a song called Sweet Child. Morgana was close to having her song until it was cut. Marina Del Ray had a song too. R.I.P. Vincent Price. Forte had a villain song in The Enchanted Christmas. Chow Down can be the Hyenas' villain song. Jim Cummings isn't the only guy who can mimic anyone, Corey Burton, Frank Welker, Robin Williams, Jeff Bennet, Rob Paulson can too

Comment: Absolutely agree with the #1 Song, Jeremy Irons is amazing with his voice acting (such a raw emotion *chills*). The rest not so much... I believe the "Lullaby" from Lion King 2 should have made it the top 10, if not the top 5. "Hell Fire" and "Oggie Boogie" should have definitely be a lot higher on the list. To me the best villain songs are the ones that steal the spotlight in the whole film. THAT is why "Be Prepared" deserves to be #1, because considering how amazing the Lion King soundtrack was, this song and J.I. are stealing the spotlight. With that consideration Jafar's song, the "Mob song" and Ratigan's song , I believe, should not be toping this chart.

Comment: There's a diffrence between the film and the soundtrack of The Lion King's Be Prepared. First the begining is different because Scar says a few lines as speaking. Second is at the ending that Jim Cummings sang diffently from the film including the very end.

Comment: While I may have or have not agreed with some choices, such as the choices themselves and/or their placement, I enjoyed your opinions of why they should be there and could agree on many.
I was surprised to find out Rasputin had a different voice actor for his singing. I also didn't know Kent Paige did animated movies, not so odd I suppose considering the awesome job he did in the musical CATS, the film and in the original Broadway production.
Watching this countdown has made feel the nostalgia of my childhood and good children movies.
Well Done

Comment: Reaction to the top ten choices
10. this was probably the ONLY song that scared me as a kids besides kidnap the sandy claus.
another interesting fact is that Ken Page, the voice of Oogie also played Old Deuteronomy from the film version of CATS. Scary in one film, creepy in another, and absolutely EPIC in even another movie. now THAT'S talent
9. This was a scary but provides a dramatic turning point in the movie, Jafar essentially is exposing Aladdin to the wolves of royalty then expells him to the edge of the world.
It's rare that the reprise could outshine the original song, but when they do they're simply amazing and deserve to be promoted from 'reprise' to 'song'
8. you guys took the words out of my mouth
7. Aw man! I could go on for hours on what i think of this song. Dark, Epically moving. You 'almost' feel sorry for his rage is partially aimed at himself because his religion believes that lust (a natural instinct) is the work of the devil. and is he can't have her no mortal man would. Another reason i think most religions are wrong. A perfect foreshadowing of what awaits for him.
6. It was and still is my favorite song in the whole movie.
5. Toxic love, it'll kill yeh
4. what more can I say?
3. This song shows how the darkness in people can easily be manipulated into doing evil deeds by the rumors started by an outspoken individual
I'm surprised they didn't add this somehow in kingdom hearts
2. Until i saw this i didn't know that someone else did the voice. I was convinced it was Christopher Lloyd singing it. Thanks for enlightening me.

Comment: Be Prepared is definatley epic, but I have to say, Friends on the Other side from the Princess and the Frog... Just wow. That song started off gentle, and kind of calming, with a sinister tone, then all hell broke loose with the ending, and made me feel uncomfortable, that's just how awesome that song is. It would'vebeen my number 1!

Comment: i would have to agree with all these songs. how you put the "oogie boogie" song in the countdown, awesome. and how "in the dark of the night" and "be prepared" are the top songs, even better. but i would agree that if the movie "The princess and the frog" came out a few more months later, "friends on the other side" would so be on this countdown. so, i loved it.

Though, I do have a question... Did any of you ever consider "This Will All Be Mine" by Ruber from Quest for Camelot? I would have at least expected it to be within 10 to 20... Or at lest worth a very honorable mention...

Comment: Big and Loud (Cat's Don't Dance) should be on here, and Friends on the Other Side (The Princess & the Frog) REALLY should be on here!!!!!
Glad Oogie's song made it on here, though!
Yeah... in the original story the witch wanted her tongue, not her voice... though I'm not sure why she wanted a mermaid's tongue... some kind of ingredient maybe?
Toxic Love works well as it really gets across the idea that while oil and cutting down trees are appealing to a modern society b/c they provide things we all like... there is a real dark side to them...
He's going to attack the Mouse Queen? He better watch out for the Tin Woodman...
Basil... But he's not a rat! The man at the pet store say he is rare Siberian hamster! XD!!!
There's a really funny episode of "The House of Mouse" where the Mob is going to perform and the Beast tries to hide under a table... and then there's the "Nobody breaks their leg like Gaston" bit...
I guessed your number 1!!!
GOSH! WHY ISN'T FRIENDS ON THE OTHER SIDE ON HERE?!

Comment: ...in all honesty, I seriously expected Hellfire to be the first place vid. The moment it wasn't I knew what WOULD be, of course, but just for being unpredictable I give you guys props. I think it should've been a good deal higher, but even so, I give you props. I especially like how you placed the Mob Song so high up, which I personally feel is one of the most underrated villain songs around, and deserves it spot. And...well, I really enjoyed the list as a whole. Congrats, y'all!

Comment: 10: Ah yes, the oogie boogie song-I've always loved it as a kid and even in high school, i'm not afraid to show respect for this song.I didn't know about that neon light fact though...
9: This song's a bit of a stretch in terms of what qualifies as a villain song, but it works just the same. I will say it's humorous and at the same time creepy, but I'm not sure about this as a choice. (Though I still LOVE this song)
8: O...M...G... (YYYYEEEESSSSS!!!!!)
I'm sad that this wasn't higher on the list...If it weren't for this song, I wouldn't have bothered to watch the movie as a kid. (I heard this song first when I was over-hearing my parents watching it to see if it was safe for me to watch)
It's sinister, it's well made and dramatic- And well worth mentioning.
7: Hellfire was a desire to listen to and a pleasure to see on this list! I'm sort of a Frollo Fangirl (but not a huge one), and one of the reasons was seeing him fighting his inner demons in this song!!!
6: I saw this song coming a mile away- who HASN'T heard of Poor Unfortunate Souls that was interested in seeing this countdown. I love the tune, I love the lyrics, I love the meaning- and this song DEFINITLY match the hype it has.
5: Oh hell yea! I was hoping to see this number on the list, and i'm so glad the uncut version got a mention too. I didn't hear "a special kind of horny" though, I thought it was "a special kind of honey". Even though the film is a guilty pleasure- I'm not guilty of loving this song!
4: You know, this is the 2nd time i've been fooled by a critic in terms of Ratigan being on a list. *coughnostalgiacriticcough* I didn't expect his song to be on this list the moment I saw Hellfire NOT #1 on here. I enjoy this song with a passion. Sure it's a song that will never get out of my head, but one I greatly respect!
3: Again-I didn't see this one coming, I see why it's a great villain song- but I didn't really think it deserved #3
2: *20 F-bombs later* THIS SONG IS AMAZING!!!!
IT'S ONE OF THE GREATEST VILLAIN SONGS EVER!!! WHY THE HELL IS THIS NOT #1!?
1:...oh...I see...never mind that last statement then, this song deserved #1 with brilliant animation, great lyrics and a wounderful choice of voice actors. JEREMY IRONS FTW!!!!
(If you really want to pick on how weird #5 was in terms of lyrics- here's one part I thought should have been mentioned:
"Hit me one more time...hit me twice...OH AH AAAAHHHH...that'd rather nice..."
I can see why that one critic thought of the Rocky Horror Picture show.)

Comment: First off, I want to say how much I loved this countdown. It was the most professional-sounding one out of all the other countdowns on YouTube that I've ever seen. Great job, all three of you!
Now for the results...
10. I was so happy to see this make the countdown. I never saw all of Nightmare Before Christmas until a couple years ago, and when I finally did, oh man. This song stood out the most aside from "This Is Halloween" in the beginning. Blacklight made it several times better, and the extended version(which I have on my iPod) sounds even better because it has an add-on where there is an intense jazz feel blaring at you and, if you heard the song before seeing the movie, you would think that it sounds pretty darn sexy.
9. I loved Aladdin when I was younger and this song, back then, didn't stick out nearly as much as "A Whole New World" or "Prince Ali Ababwa", the song it was reprised from. But after getting another chance to see it not too long ago, with my now mature mind, I adore it. Jafar is one of the best Disney villains in history, and this wrote it in concrete for me.
8. Prince of Egypt was a great movie considering Dreamworks made it. This particular song was quite creepy, but "Through Heaven's Eyes" and "Let My People Go" seemed better to me. For a villain song, though, it is very good.
7. "Hellfire"... Gosh, no matter how many years pass, it's still the darkest villain song ever. It has that "perversion and lust is a sin" feel that gets you right in your soul. Scary stuff. And that Frollo has such a powerful voice just adds to the overall greatness of it.
6. Finally, a countdown where this song is not in first place. It's a very good song, but I honestly think that there are many others that own it, like # 5-1 of this countdown. Ursula is a great villain indeed.
5. Oh my sweet, ever-loving God, I was surprised to learn that "Toxic Love" wasn't in the Top 4. But in the Top 5 is darn impressive. Yes, I am fully aware that Tim Curry has one of the best, most spine-tingling singing voices of all time. It's just like you said, no matter who you are, this voice just hypnotizes you and you zone in on it until it's finished. I think the effect is much more amplified when girls hear it. *snerk* The message of lust and devlish intent makes us ladies just swoon every time we hear that smooth flow of a voice run through our ears. It didn't help that my mind jumped even further into the gutter after hearing the deleted parts of the song. Good Lord, man! You would swear he was doing it on purpose just to get the female viewing audience turned on. EPIC sexy song, yes.
4. Oh, now this one...I had no clue how great this movie was until a good friend of mine told me of her devotion to it. For her sake, I checked it out and ended up loving it. This was the only song in the whole movie sung by a major character that made it even more special to me. Along with the other girls that commented before me, I too, fell in love with Ratigan/Vincent after I heard this song. I love how he is always prim and proper (save for the battle at the end)and his voice is so soothing and melodious. ^^
3. The Mob Song...hmm. I do like how it shows Gaston acting like a real villain rather than a common bully. The song that I wish could have replaced this one is "Don't Fall In Love" in Beauty and the Beast 2. Because, Forte is a much more intimidating villain than Gaston, and it's Tim Curry singing yet again. But then, The Mob Song is more threatening-sounding, so it does fit the original movie better, which is why it was a wise choice.
2. Another movie and song I enjoyed. I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, believe me, but I have heard Christopher Lloyd's and Jim Cummings's voices enough separately to tell them apart very well. For me, there was just too much of a difference between them for me to get that Jim was mimicking Christopher. It drove me nuts trying to explain it to myself. If you want to see an awesome villain played by Mr. Lloyd, go check out Cyberchase on PBS. It's a children's show, yes, but he stands out enough to make it worth watching to a young adult.
1. YES. A million times, yes!!! The Lion King is one of my most favorite Disney movies, and Scar my favorite character. Before I watched this video, I had no idea that there were two different actors singing the song. That just goes to show how great Jim is at sounding like other people. The reference to the Nazis made me a little bit scared, though. I don't see why it was even in there to begin with, and why I didn't have a problem with it before I knew that scene meant something. That disturbs me. But still, great song and I am so happy that it made #1!

But I must also say that it's a shame "Friends on the other side" wasn't on the list... because it's definatley MY 1# fav (No ofense Scar, i still love your song) but Keith David makes it so epic! At least it was played at the end....anyways: this was still a real cool list guys :)

Comment: @Sara- It's kinda harsh to say they should keep their opinions to themselves, because when you get down to it, you're bound to have one person disagree with you even if the majority of the world hates it. Just don't watch the review. It's not as if all these reviewers don't have the right to express themselves. The only thing I hate is when the fanboys take their words to heart and decide never to give the movie a real chance just because of their reviews, but really, the only way for a negative review of a movie you like to ruin your childhood is if you let it. I like Space Jam, The Pagemaster, Rock-A-Doodle and a bunch of others the critic's reviewed, but I still go back and watch those reviews and get a good laugh out of them because I realize it's his opinion and, well, he brings up both funny and good points. Doesn't change my opinion of the film.

Comment: Response to Graeme Pischke's list:
I have to admit, these are some rather good and unexpected choices. I didn't think I'd ever meet anyone who'd put a Land Before Time song on a top songs list of any kind. Also, it's nice to see Cutting Edge on a list. Few people realize that one counts as a villain song. The TV picks were good as well, and I can understand Pusher not being on the list as not many people saw Clone High during its run. And I agree with "Are you In or Out?" In my eyes, that one outdoes any other villain song from the Aladdin movies.

Comment: 10. I acutally thought this movie was creepy, so I never enjoyed it.
9. I love Aladdin. One of my childhood favorites. And this song is really cool and funny. And Jafar is one of my favorite Disney Villians.
8. I have recently watched the Prince Of Egypt. This song here is really cool. And the really creepy part of it is when the two preist, Hotep and Huy looked creepy near the end.
7. Now I also liked The Hunchback Of Notre Dame when I was a kid, too. Well, Frollo is really one of my favorite Disney Villians. I don't know why, but oh well. The song here is really powerful, but be careful when you say it's name.
6. I hardly remember this song. But now I know what it is. But I do remember what happens after it. But I'll give the Little Mermaid another chance and I will enjoy it.
5. I really enjoyed Ferngully the last rainforest in my later childhood. In this song, I thought Hexus was hilarious.
4. I really enjoyed The Great Mouse Detective back in late summer 2001. It became my one of my favorite new movies back then. But before that, this song was the only scene I watched on the Be Our Guest Sing-A-Long video cassette.
3. I also enjoyed Beauty And The Beast. Another childhood favorite. Gaston is another of my favorite villians. The two songs here are really cool and dramatic.
2. Like The Swan Princess, I never got into this movie when I was young. But years later, I found out what it was. And I liked it. Along with Journey To the Past, this song is my top 2 favorites of this movie.
1. I've seen it a bunch of times before. I actually enjoyed it alot. And the villian song is really cool. No wonder you made it numer one. And I've recently got it on DVD.

Comment: @evilwoman10 and veggieprincess-
So let me get this straight... you think that just because a villain is lame the song he/she sings must automatically be lame? Nevermind the fact that Gaston was deliberately meant to be lame at first to trick the audience into thinking he wasn't anything particularly threatening, but really, how does him being lame make the Mob Song lame? That's like if an awesome villain sang a really lame song, you'd call it an awesome song just because the villain who sings it is awesome. This isn't a top villains list, it's a top villain SONGS list. Just thought I'd clear that up.

Comment: To vegieprincess: Don't look at me. It was Logan that put this list together. Still, this was about songs in questions rather then villans. As much as great of a villan Ratgian is, we all have our opinions, but both him and Gaston end up the same way considering how thier "inner beast" breaks out at the climax. Also, as far as the cigarette goes, its a cartoon. Besides, there is probably opium in that instead or just something else.

Comment: 10. I KNEW I recognized that voice!
9. Yeah, Jafar's a total badass. Definitely one of Disney's greatest villains.
8. OK, this song is epic INSANITY to the enth degree! What kind of deranged idiot tries to upstage God?
7. Jesus, this song scared me when I was a kid (I was six when it came out) and STILL scares me to this day!
6. Totally my favorite Disney villain song.
5. Eh, this movie was OK, but this song was an out-of-the-park homer! I mean, it's Tim Curry, that in itself is pretty dang epic.
4. FUCK yeah, somebody else loves this song! I'm a HUGE Ratigan fangirl (as is my sister,) and his song was always my favorite part of this movie. And PS, I disagree. Vincent Price's voice trumps Tim Curry's ANY day.
3. WTF? Next to Prince John from Robin Hood and Edgar from The Aristocats, Gaston has got to be the LAMEST Disney villain ever! He's not even that sexy! I'd rather do Ratigan than him, and Ratigan is a freakin' RODENT!
2. Oh yeah, baby! TOTALLY my fave non-Disney villain song! Shame Christopher Lloyd didn't sing.
1. Until recently, I did not know that Jim Cummings finished the song for Jeremy Irons, but now that I know, I feel stupid for not being able to tell. Excellent list, gentlemen!

1. How in Hell did Gaston's Mob Song beat out The World's Greatest Criminal Mind? Ratigan is twice the villain...no, a MILLION times the villain Gaston is; he's smarter, sexier, and funnier. Gaston is just a self-centered playground bully next to Ratigan.
2. Does anyone else have an issue with Ratigan smoking? Not only is it unsightly, but one of the components of cigarette smoke is arsenic, commonly used in rat poison. So...why doesn't he die when he lights up?

1. it's Vincent Price singing
2. it's Vincent Price singing
3. IT'S VINCENT PRINCE SINGING! HOW MUCH MORE EPIC CAN IT GET?
However, I would have liked to have seen "Trust in Me" from the Jungle Book on this list; it's eerie and hypnotic, and it could've easily kicked "Queen of Mean" off the list.

Comment: Yeah. And I am the real James Rolfe as well. Shut up you imposters!
PS: No, I am not the real James Rolfe (the AVGN); this is just a little mocking contest. My real name is Michael.
PSS: Good list, guys. And as much as I HATE Ferngully (even moreso than the Nostalgia Critic and Nostalgia Chick), I would have to admit that Toxic Love and Hexis as the villain were the only redeeming qualities of the movie. In the end, I actually wanted Hexis to win (though I knew he wouldn't).

Comment: (Don't worry, the whole me being impersenated thing is over, so I can be myself again.)
To Jordan: The level of suggestive on the other lyrics is on a teen level, so you can understand them. And, yeah, your not the only one bummed about not getting recognized. By hey, at least some viewers know us.

Comment: Hey filmbuff thank you for responing. by the way, when ment not to give other suggestive lyrics in Toxic Love. Is it even suggestive for a teen like me? P.S I am angry with rage hearing that someone Impersonated Doug Walker (that guy with the glasses, but you get the idea). you guy shold recognized by channel awesome.

Comment: I feel somewhat disappointed that "Big and Loud" nor its reprised form from "Cats Don't Dance" is on this countdown, both of which could have easily bumped "Queen of Mean" out of the list in my opinion. Also, I'm surprised "Friends on the Other Side" didn't make the cut either, though how you put the ending of it in the credits did make up for that. Anyway, it's your list, therefore I have absolutely no say in what you put in it.

Comment: Wow! I never realized how much Jim Cummings has done! He has always been one of my favorite actors, specifically because he voiced my all time FAVORITE cartoon character: Bonkers D. Bobcat. This countdown was epic coolness! I was wondering where "In the Dark of the Night" was going to appear. I didn't expect it to be 2 but I can see why it was!
Random Side Note-I LOVE Bartok! Great supporting character AND got his own movie. :))))))))

Comment: When I heard "Be Prepare" as a kid I thought it was lame becose the only thing the hyenas wanted was food but know its actuly makes much more sence. They are animals and food ist always for free plus they get to rule and spred over the plains without the lions stoping theam and that is probebly why the lionkingdom was ruind (the teritory was overpopulated by preadators).

Comment: To Mike: Actually, I left out the part about being noticed here when I pitched my series to Rob, however, I never got a response frome him, so I feel even more sad. It was the same reaction when I sent a request for reviewing my cut of Twice Upon a Time. They never replied like they did you two.

Comment: To Filmbuff: If only Logan and I found out before making idiots of ourselves, attempting to join Channel Awesome, only to be turned down, because they didn't know who we were. Mind you, I'm happy here, so I'm not too unimpressed.

Comment: Doubt it. However, it's probably going to be a while till another large special comes into play. Although, I would love to work with Mike and Logan again on another list. Oh as for the imposter, the answer is no. We have confirmation that the Doug Walker and Rob Walker are phonies. Sorry people.

Comment: To Jordan: Beats me. They always start out adult and then dull it down for a kid's perspective. Listen to the whole song of Toxic Love on the soundtrack and you'll here the other "suggestive" material. Don't want to give it away though. Basically, studios would lazily back then compile a sound track without thought and add songs with missing bridges or material that never made it into the final cut. 5000 Fingers of Dr. T is a good example
To Rob Walker: Knock it off with the Walker Brother impersenations. It's getting on my nervous. Next thing you know it he'll be doing the Smothers Borthers.

Comment: I forgot to write on the other comment. How did the songwriter of toxic love could get away with mature lyrics that were cut from the film and yet it could be heard in the soundtrack? That would make me think of Nostalgia Critic's line "You know for kids." I have not seen the film but I would like to see it becase you guys reccomend it.

Comment: Great list guys although I was dissapointed that Hellifre wasn't #1, but could see you guys didn't want to copy The Nostalgia Critic's list of greatest villian songs. But don't get me wrong be prepared was a good pick and so was the mob song. overral it was just as good as The Nostalgia Critc's list. p.s. thank you for including other great songs that The Nostalgia Critic didn't have on his list.

Comment: Yes! So glad to see the last half of the review! I do like your picks, and many of them are my favorites, though a few of them have questionable lyrics in my opinion. "In the Dark of the Night" and "Toxic Rain" are iffy picks for being the top 10 spots. And I have only a small gripe with "Hellfire" not being in the top three. But you supported your picks which I enjoyed. Otherwise, I think it's a great countdown list. Awesome job!

Comment: Great countdown I only have one complant I thought Cruella Devil and Prince Ali (Repriseed) should have switched places as I question puting a reprise song in the top 10 and find Cruella Devill catchy enough to make 9 but otherwise I am happy with the choises you guys made.

Comment: I was prepared to hate this list...but I'm impressed. You three picked some good songs, and it's obvious that you put a lot of effort into this countdown. Good work.
On another note...
and I'm not trying to pull a Movie-Brat/06 here (>:D), but I still think you should consider doing your own underrated nostalgic classics list.
Unless you're under contract, why the strict adherence to animation? Just my two cents.
