Comment: When i found out of that number 1 I played the Nostalgia critics no scene from drop dead Fred. I mean seriously the wiches are not scarier than Chernabog. And i thought Pink Elephants would be on here. Other than number 1 exellent list Jaimetud. Maybe if I get a youtube account you and hewy and Mr. coat would help me on my Top 30 awsomest villains list I will make.

Comment: I;ve read Edward Gorey's book the gashlycrumb tinies that I've found in the school's library when I was a kid, though....it gave me nightmares and it was removed from the library due to one of the moms saw that at open house and read what happen to the kids in the book.

Comment: My sister and I saw Watership Down as kids and it gave us nightmares for years, I was terrified of rabbits for a loooong time -.-. This definitely deserved to be put on the list! This is such great video by the way!

Comment: Jamietud: Watership Down and The Plague Dogs aren't aimed to children/ children's movies. I saw Watership Down as young and it didn't scare me at all (then again I have probably made of steel).

Comment: After seeing the presumably American rating of Fantasia, I checked the rating in my home country, Canada. And it is rated the same. I can only ask... how? With Canadian ratings it is either higher or lower that the American rating, or sometimes, but not often the same.
As for Watership Down, you'd be surprised. It is rated G, here in Canada. I can't give you a further rised eye brow. Unfortunately, I can't give you the rating for The Plague Dogs, because I haven't been able to find a copy even though I've looked.
I'll agree, I have had the same scares. But that's mainly because I insisted at watching the original three Indiana Jones movies as a kid. I liked adventure.

Comment: Thanks for the comments, Face! I actually never read the book. I ought to do that sometime, maybe before the remake gets made. And yes, Luke gets changed back into a real boy at the end of the movie, that is if you're watching the American version. The Brits left that part out, I hear. And there's actually some story out about Roahl Dahl protesting the movie in front of a theatre with a loudspeaker, but in the film's defense, I think it was too lighthearted for a darker ending. By the way, I use Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, but as you can tell with this episode, I like to use After Effects as well. What do you edit with?

Comment: I can, without a doubt, say that this was freakin' amazing! You did an excellent job and kudos for not using typical scary moments.
The book the Witches is different than the movie, but both always managed to freak me out. In the movie, I believe that the little boy gets turned back into a human at the end, whereas in the book, he stays a mouse that will die in a couple of years.
Question: what editing program do you use?

Comment: Yeah, mice have an extremely short life span, but I still think Dahl chose that because at least they'd be cuter that way. As for the "Gashlycrumb Tinies" segment, the character "James" drinks lye. Lye causes chemical burns to the inside of the mouth, esophagus and stomach and drinking enough of it can guarantee a slow and painful death. Might be a good cleaning solution, but it certainly won't help you clear your throat.

Comment: By the way, that scream from the woman in "Night of the Living Dead" (while she was being stabbed with a trowel) sounds like one of the Chippettes' screams. As for the part about "The Witches,"; 1.) Being turned to mice is a harmful punished because mice are easy to kill and they live for only 2 years, 2.) In the book, the Witches' eyes were blue with orange swirls (like the FireFox logo), not glow purple, and there are some normal that have purple eyes (but they don't glow).

Comment: Yeah, "Watership Down" seems to be getting a resurgence of respect in recent years. I'm not sure if it's due for a remake, but it certainly deserves it's recognition. One of these days, I might just sit down and read the book. You never know.

Comment: Good list. Glad that you include "Watership Down" on it. That was one of the darkest movies I've ever seen, and had one of the scariest villains I've ever (General Wounwart) *shivers*. Plus this is one those films that don't show bunnies being all cutise or evil for no reason.

Comment: Wow! I'm pleasantly surprised to see just how much positive feedback this episode has recieved. I worked so hard on it a year ago and it's finally getting the recogniion it deserves. But I'll try to also take the time here to answer your comments as well as I can. Meg, I certainly recommend everything on this list, but if it's not your thing, then that's perfectly fine. Just make sure to stay away from "Race To Witch Mountain." Frrxty, I can't say that I'm interested at the moment, but if you have any further requests, please put them in my forums section on this site.Boxohobo, I think I might pronounce it as "Brew-tawn," if that's okay. Oh, and enjoy the mashed potatoes! For the rest of you, thanks again for the comments and glad you enjoyed the video. I plan to have something else Halloweeny cooked up for next week! Stay tuned!

Comment: I think the ghost of Christmas yet to come is scarier than Marley. Though everytime he appears on Scrooge's door in every adaptaion I've seen, that part is always a jump moment to me. Marley is somewhat scary. But not as scary as the ghost of Christmas yet to come.

Comment: OH... MY... GOD!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?!? "Watership Down" is in this countdown?!?!?!? AWWWESOOOOOOOMME!!! Kick-arse voice cast, beautifully drawn animation, etc. IT'S JUST SO GOOD! Thank you for putting that on the list. I sure hope that a remake of this will be made.

Comment: Hi-May-Tood.
You coulda spelled it a little differently.
But I guess I'm guilty of the same thing with my
made up words. For instance, how would you pronounce "Bruton"?
:/ I still think Chernabog is just a cop-out.
It's Satan to me. XD Your mashed potatoes made me laugh! Night on Bald Mountain scared me so much as a child, I would cut off the movie and leave it unfinished when it came to that part.
BLOODY BUNNIES HOLY SHIT-WTF? D:
I was HUNGRY up until now! Thanks!!

Comment: I think I should make a small correction on this one. When I made this video, the projected due date for the "Doubtful Guest" film adaptation was Fall 2010. As you can tell, it's been pushed back. Other than that, hope you guys enjoy the video.
