Comment: Cinemax: Same here, but even good director can take a concept that's a cheap knockoff and make it their own. When the concept for "Speed" was pitched, they called it "Die Hard on a bus." But I can understand not wanting to be pushed into a corner with these guys.

Comment: @Jaimetud Why does everybody keep suggesting I should settle for a writer/director position at the Asylum when all I do is mock and criticize the studio all the time (expect, you know, like in this case, when I'm not)? As for trying myself in a different role like, say, a screenwriter or, indeed, a director, believe me I'd love to! That said, I'd much rather work on something original or at least half-decent rather than make a cheap buck by ripping-off other famous movies and releasing my own "The Godmother", "The Shawshank Revenge", "Forest Bump" and etc.
