Episode 29:
Vaulting:
A.I. Artificial Intelligence
Opening the new season, Morgan takes on a film that not only asks how far we can go with technology, but also how this unfinished Stanley Kubrick project ended up with Steven Spielberg. Will it be an underrated masterpiece or an attempt at making a trippy feature?

Comment: Pretty good. I think this is your best editing job yet. I can't say I hated this film either. It was okay and the special effects were extraordinary. I didn't know this was inspired by a book. Hmm...

Comment: To Jacob: He has interesting films and commentary on human life. Aside from 2001, I think his best to date are Dr. Strangelove with Peter Sellers in multiple roles and The Shinning, which was an impressive horror. While I have yet to see Eyes Wide Shut and Full Metal Jacket, they seem to have an interesting take on sexuality and war in our lives.

Comment: P.S. If you are thinking of the movie, you are way off ( I actually thought Joe Dante's remake of It's a Good Life was impressive and well done). I'm actually doing a top ten on the worst episodes of the series.

Comment: To Nic: I never played and nor am I familiar with it. I know its a fantasy crossover with the Disney films, but that's about it. And yes the Twilight Zone....just you wait...

Comment: To Drust: Actually, this was his version...the only difference is that in the original written treatment he had sex scenes with the character Gigolo Joe. Still, Kubrick said he would produce it and he did in the end. Besides, him and Steven were good friends and understood each other. So in a way, this is his vision in the eyes of a different director. But it would be interesting to see what Kubrick would have done if he ended up directing it.
