Episode 20:
Vaulting: Super Mario Co-Reviewers

In honor of 20 episodes of Vaulting, Morgan is reviewing what many consider the baddest video game movie to ever exist and to others a simple guilty pleasure. But he is not alone. This time he is bringing along a good friend of his for the ride.

Note from Morgan: This episode was filmed from a webcam.

Comment: Doesn't the De-evolutionizer gun look like the one bazooka zapper add-on for the SNES console? (I kind of forgot what it was called.)

Comment: Good review and probably the best one I've found for this movie so far, but there's one thing that always gets to me: Mario and Luigi's surname is, in fact, Mario! This has been confirmed by Hideo Kojima himself! It seems unfair to fault the movie for it when that was one of the few things that was true to the games.

Comment: Baddest... I'm sensing double entendre... I guess the main problems are: The stuff that goes on in it makes no sense And they totally changed just about everything in the source material... so kinda like "Dragonball in Name Only" this movie is "Mario in Name Only" WAIT! HE JUST SAID THE T-REX WAS A ONE CELLED ORGANISM! WTF?! I thought fungus was their friend... you know... "Mushroom Kingdom" ...oh well... I'm hoping some day Nintendo will change their mind and give someone the reins to one of their franchises who actually knows the game well, and will do a good and true to the game movie adaptation... I think good video game movies can be made... for some reason Hollywood just isn't seeming to get the right people making them yet...

Comment: This movie does look like a lost gem, but not with the SMB tag. I just wish someone could have done an animated film version of Super Mario Bros.!!! Fans would have been more satisfied!!!

Comment: Actually, there are two on deck for next month. They are both part of some collaberations I'm doing. One is for Masters of Horror and the other is for Planet of the Apes. Then, there is DVD Talk. But I hope to get something out on that soon...I hope.
